Any Idea on what this would run??? Im hoping for mid 12's with some upgraded suspension, and so on. maybe with some nitrous drop it into the 11's.

This is going to be a torque monster.

All I have left to buy are the roller rockers, lifters, and vortec tpi base. Everything else is assembled and ready to go.

Pics of the motor before heads were installed at this location:

Well ill have it in soon, and then ill post track times, but just wanted to here what you guys thought, and maybe get an idea on what it will do at the track!!! All suggestions are welcome

What a POS looking IROC with that stupid bra, JK . Hey all you need are the ported heads and your rdy to go.

But you really need to look at those rear end gears and get some 3.43s or 3.73s, but first try out those stock 3.23s you may just like being able to cruse at 105 at 2500rpms

What were your plans for the tranny, a built up 700r4 right? with shift kits and corvett servo?

For the trannyy, welll i know it wont hold long, hopefully a good thousand miles maybe So i can buy some time to save some dough. I had aamaco quote me 1200 to build my tranny to hold 500 ftlbs of torque. But I can buy a new pro built tranny for like 750, and then have certified swap it in for 200 bucks, which is cheaper. Im not sure what ill do yet.

Well the gears, I dont want to go to much higher then 3.42's or 3.23's cause the car is already gonna have tons of torque, and just adding 3.73's and higher will just spin um, I just hope nothing breaks or twists!!!

Yeah as far as the cam goes, I could have used more cam, and thats still an option, but i want this to be a street machine, that can be driven daily. I think the cam I chose, probably should of had more lift now, but i still am set on the duration. I feel that if i go higher like 224/230 duration at .50 then i will need like a 2500 stall, plus the max hp --rpm will probably be at like 5900-6200, well thats fine and dandy and all, but I dont know if the ltr setup, (tpi) will hit that high, i doubt it. So by adding more duration, Im waisting horsepower that i could be using. I probably could of gone a tad higher like 218/224 but oh well. Well see how this cam does. That 110 lobe seperation thogh will give me nice mid range..

Well any suggestions are great, Im still trying to get an idea on what this sob will run!!!!
Theres some 5.0's around here runnin high 13's that think there bad, but thats all gonna change soon!!!!

I would not put much more than 450 HP on a Scat 9000 crank. Go with a 4340 forged crank especially with nitrous. I'd go with the LPE219 cam. 12's should be no problem.

you wouldnt go over 450 horse with a scat 9000 crank???

My buddy has a 69 camaro and is using a scat 9000 crank, hes pulling at least 500 horse with no problems,

also did you see that article in the chevy magazine, they tested a stock 350, bottom end with nitrous and it held up amazingly.

They went all the way to a 325 shot and it still held. But the 425 shot blew it.

They were pushing 650 horse power and thats on a stock bottom end!!!

Thanks for the advice, but if I ever even get 450 horse to the wheels I will be surprised. A scat 9000 should be good. Plus I already have the entire bottom end done and assembled. It is a short block, so I really dont want to go to all that work to replace it. The cam though I can change

PLEASE GIVE ME THE SPECS OF THE LPE219 cam and where I can buy it!!! thanks

If you can do your part, 11's will be easy with that setup. Chevy Hi Perf did a build up on a 355, with less than that, and got 12's from it. They also shifted out at 5700, to get the best times too. Watch the quench area though with that high a CR with iron heads for detonation problems.

I had planned to use the 9000 crank but, after hearing several complaints on the durability of the Scat 9000 I asked my engine builder about them. He said after about 450 hp the 9000 crank will start to wobble, which will eventually lead to failure. He won't even consider a 500hp plus motor with one in it. BTW, thats flywheel HP, not RWHP. Here's a link to the LPE cam http://www.lingenfelter.com/lingenfe...24&pf%5Fid=489
