TPI Header install

What tools and parts are need to intall a set of headers on my 91' GTA LB9. When i do the install im gonna delete the egr crap. I already made a block off plate and put it on now i want to delete the rest and put a set of headers on. Hedman makes a set for like $110. Will i have to drill a hole for the O2 sensor? I dont have a cat. conveter either. Will i feel a gain?

take off the driverside valve cover, slide it in. The driver's side is fairly easy, the passenger side, use a 2x4 and GENTLY and SLIGHTLY use some pressure to move the A/C lines a LITTLE. WATCH your oil dip stick tube.

You may have to loosen up an engine mount and jack up the engine to get the passenger side header in, I did. Also, make sure all header flange bolt holes line up with the holes in the heads, I had to widen out two holes on my Supercomps. Get the headers coated as well, its worth the extra cost and not coating is not a mistake Id make again.

what kinda difference is the coating gonna make? What about a header wrap? Does that work the same way too?

Are they shorty or full length headers? My experience has been that the shortys will go in without many problems. Full length headers on the car I helped work required the engine be lifted up.

!

Coated headers will significantly lower underhood temps, as well as last a lot longer and look better. The general consensus is that the header wrap that youre refering to is a bad idea. It can actually hold moisture and cause the headers to corrode faster. My buddy just got JetHot longtubes on his LT1, and they are cool to the touch soon after the engine is shut off, plus they look awesome.
