i found away to make a real cai
i got a 86 305 tpi , now i removed the airbox, and all the metal pannels underneath , there is 4 little holes that leads underneath the car, now i opened up them holes 3 inches put a 3 inch pipe attaching my k&n cone filter, to where the mas air flow senser is, ,so it gets cold air from underneath the car, there is about 7 inches of room to put the cone filter, this is above the bracket holding the ground effects in place,
before i hear don't drive in the rain ect, the car leaves the garage once a week and it is sunny when it does,
seems to get alot of cold air down there , very good mod

I used 2 8" a/c duct elbows, they were a PERFECT fit. They go from where the fog lights used to be to RIGHT up to the K&N's. I have wire mesh covering the openings of the ducts to keep anything like rocks from going into the ducts. And I used aluminum tape to form a seal between the round ducts and the square filter housings.

Did you notice a difference when you did it?

I never miss a chance to post pics of my CAI. Made from 3" mandrel bends and reinforced silicone couplers, with a 3" opening by 5" long S&B Racing filter (Soon to be a 12" long version!!!).
