HSR L98 heads and cam and rev limits!
What would be the best heads and cam combination with an HSR equipped 88' L98 IROC. I was thinking of the ZZ9 cam and maybe Dart Pro 1's or TPIS heads. Also, I read that the stealth ram should be shifted at 6200 to 6400RPM. My question is how is your engine capable of reving that high with the stealth ram and not stock. Do you have to build the bottom end or is a HSR equipped L98 capable of reving that high? Thanks!

well just ran mine today. ZZ4 cam, ported L98 iron heads. hit a wall at 5600. most likely the LT1 valve springs causing it. it all depends on what you have. but i tell you one thing. this car came alive swapping from slp runners and edelbrock base. i really do not feel any low rpm loss at all. but dyno and track will tell the tale. check out www.stealthram.com

I've accidently reved my stock L98 to 6000+ Mind you it isnt making any power above 5500, but it did have roller rockers to help it spin that much. I'm sure it didnt do any good, but it still ran fine.
