My Regulator Blew UP!!!
the stupid diaphram in my regulator got a huge hole in it, so fuel began leaking up to the top, which is where it plugged into my plenum! so fuel was shooting and getting sucked into the plenum from the regulator causing it to fill with fuel and run like crap!!!!
I have an old mallory regulator... they apparently dont make diaphrams for it anymore...
is there anything i can put on or patch this rubber material with? i was thinking maybe a tire-inner tube type patch with rubber cement?
my only other option appears to be spending $110 on a new high pressure regulator...

Theres nothing you can do to repair it. What PSI are you running? My stock replacement diaphram is holding up to 52PSI constantly on a daily driver with no problems at all. Theyre around $50 or so.
I remember when mine went bad, but we didnt know what it was... Had just got done a motor-vac and thought it was left over chemical making it run bad. Well an hour and a half later and 2 and a half FULL TANKS of gas, I finally figured out the probelm. Sounded totally bad *** at idle, but the smoke screen behind me was while driving was quite insane. :sillylol:

You can get the FPR diaphragm/regulator thru AutoZone.
Part number is 800-122 and is made/packaged by GP Sorensen.
Number on my AutoZone reciept is 079671 800-122
Paid $22.99 and it was in stock.
Mike
Let me add that is a stock or OEM replacement diaphragm. I didnt think Mallory ever made an adjustable FPR for GM TPI systems?!? I could be wrong.......
AFAIK all of the AFPR's out on the market consist of a custom style 'hat', an adjustable preload screw and a load bearing disc The stock diaphragm/regulator is used.

well im REALLY screwed now, if i wasnt before.
the regulator is twice the size of the old one, so theres no way it will fit behind the fuel rail.
I will have to remotelly locate it. problem now is, the threads IN the fuel rail dont match up with ANYTHING i have at all.
I tried a 3/8 -> 8AN fitting, and it completelly rounded off the 3/8 side of the threads. it also broke off inside the fuel rail, so now theres this piece of brass stuck inside the threads of my fuel rail...
omg could this get any worse?
