Errr . . . I got my 24 pounders from Accel for about $225 if I remember right.

If you can find them cheaper - don't tell me!

Since we are talking about injectors here can somebody tell me if the SVO 24# injectors are the same as the Ford performance 24#injectors that Summit sales for $219? Need to know this before I buy the set from Summit.

Oh, come on I know somebody out there knows the answer to this question about the SVO and the ford performance injectors. Are they one in the same or what?

No, this is an injector question as a lot of us 3rdgenner us various injectors. A lot of people recommend the SVO 24#injectors which is Ford but I need to know whether or not the Ford performance 24# injector is the same. So this is the right forum.

They are the same, SVO means "Special Vehicle Operations", it is like there highest performance vehicles. I got mine from Jegs for $219 also, and the box says 'Ford Performance'.

But, isnt it true that the lb/hr on svo injectors are rated at the psi that for uses? Their fuel system is rated at like 36psi. Correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt a set of #24 lb SVO injectors be rated for more like 26 or so? Then if thats the case the 19's would be good for like 21 or 22#'s . Im a little fuzzy on this but I am lookin at the 23# accells to get as close to a stock replacement for my l98. Dont want 24's cause i dont have want to do any prom work as of yet. And I figure i could use the 21's and get an AFPR and crank up the pressure.

BlackBeast'88, these statements are all true from what research I have done on here. But I needed new injectors because I had the poorly engineered ones and I was doing a lot of mods to my car and did not want to reuse the originals. It seems that the SVO's have a better reputation for consistency as far as all flowing to what they are supposed to. I did not want stock size because I installed a bigger cam and some other things and will eventually upgrade the heads, but prom work is definetly needed to run the bigger injectors to optimum performance.

yeah the SVO injectors have a conical spray pattern instead of GM's straight squirt design they all seem to have.

the svos are rated at a lower pressure as described, 24# flow more like 27# @ 44 PSI.

they have only 1 lockring land however, and its higher up on the injector. this means when you put the thing into the fuel rail you dont have to push it near as far into the hole, i would recommend new Orings too.

here is a pic of a 24# SVO injector from a 99 Cobra. See how high up the snap ring is? if you check the factory injector its almost 1/2" lower. the injector still sticks out into the manifold just as far, but its overall length is slightly longer.
