any ideas..

just dropped in a new 350 this spring.. it runs 200 times better than the one that was in it.. however.. a slight miss carried over.. so i know it's in the fuel injection.. it occurs at about 2k and usually just when the engine reaches the first temp line on the stock gauge.. after there the car pulls fine.. i checked the tps.. wires, plugs, distributor, coil, all of that stuff is new.. what should i check next.. and how should i go about checking it.. please.. as much help as possible.. thanks in advance..

Is it possible that this "Miss" could just be a leaky header gasket?? or exhaust leak? Just wondering, some ppl mistake a "Miss" for this often

Well your firing order could be off, and or a injector may be going bad, but even though the TPS is new, does not mean it is set correctly, or maybe has gone bad already, also the valve lash may be set incorrectly. Does it pop, ping or backfire at all while having these problems??

i checked the position of the tps and then checked it for any dead spots w/ an analog meter... firing order is good.. and there are no popping or pinging noises or backfiring... i was looking under the hood and the thing shown in the picture looks slightly damaged and has 3 vacum lines coming out of it... the one has like a metal clip holding it onto the bottom of it and it goes to the egr.. the other two are connected by the rubber boot .. the one goes to the intake then canister while the other one is plugged... all the diagrams only show 2 vacum lines coming from this dohicky... any ideas??

That would be your EGR solenoid, and if it is not working you shoudl get a code, but it may be worth while to change it, if it is damaged. How do you mean it looks slightly damaged??? On of the fitting is just a vent, there are only two hoses that shoudl go from it, one to the EGR, and one to th TB if I remember right.

the plastic shield around the wire coils is cracked an i can see the wires... also i'm assuming that both of the vacum lines should be coming from the rubber boot....???? thanks for the help

Yeah I would replace it then, and yes both hoses should be coming from the boot. I am more then happy to help.
