compression questions

i am goin to build a 383 stroker with the following:
pbr 5.7 h-beam rods
speed pro .125 dome 10.8 compression
1 5/8 shorty hedmanns with y pipe
mild cam
stock stall convertor
ported intake and components
and stock l 98 heads

is the compression too high ?
will these parts work together ?
will it be much of a difference from stock performance?

Your not going to accomplish alot with the stock l98 heads an stock converter. I would also setup to 1 3/4 inch headers since its a 383 and it needs to breathe. What do you mean by a mild cam? You won't see much of a gain over stock since your still using the restrictive stock heads. If you port or swap the heads, put a bigger stall, larger headers, and burn a chip you will see some very impressive gains. But til then it won't amount to much

You can probably squeeze by with some creative and careful tuning.

Your cam choice can make a difference too.
