Fri the 13th ran over black cat - now no spark, WTF?
No joke, Fri the 13th I was heading home from dinner with a friend when it happened. Was following a car a few car lengths behind when from under his minivan out flies a cat with a white stripe on it's back, OK a skunk but black cat sounds better. Had no time to swerve and didn't want to at 70 mph so I let off the gas and ran over it. It made less noise than I thought so I hit the gas to take off and I noticed the car is not accelerating, eng was dead. I coast off the e-way and stop, put it in park and try to start it, turns over but no fire. Could smell gas and had fuel pressure so I pop the coil wire to check for spark, nothing. It's dark and I can't see sh it so I get it towed home. I have since got under it and no damage to underside, just some fur and flesh. but no loose wires. I have an 89 RCR's old car with a LT1 intake and accel DFI. I am not familiar with the accell wiring but since it controls spark I am guessing it is tied into the ign system.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the accell connections they can e-mail me? I want to check out it's connections first before I start before the GM stuff.
Any ideas as to what could have happened, my guess is something came loose in either the ign system or a the accell interface. BTW I am getting poer to the coil but it must not be recieving the signal to fire.
Thanks a ton.

try the ignition amplifier. It is under the dist. cap. It's very common for them to go around 120,000 miles or so. every 3rd gen I owned did it at approx 120K. Costs about 30 bux or so and its EZ to swap out

I ran into my no turn over problem again and fixed that by bypassing the f'n relay, I ran the ign wire directly to the gear position sensor and got crank right away. This leads me to believe that the Accell computer might be toast. Can anyone tell me what wire from the computer triggers the dist? Has to be some wire that connects to the dist in order to control spark adv. A wiring diagram for the accell computer would be of great short and long term use to me. I'll check their website.
EDIT:
Found it on their website, should have looked their to start.
