3.73 gears PLEASE HELP, will it slow me down??
I have a chance to get a set of 3.73's for a good price. My question is, will this actually hurt a fairly stock TPI?? I have headers back to 3'', dual hollow cats, slp runners, matched plenum, 52mm TB, TCI 2500 stall, pulley's and other little stuff I can't think of. I am running approx.13.8(ran 13.9 w/o headers, runner,s convertor LCA's). Any estimates on what would happen to track times with these gears??

No the 3.73's wont hurt you. I run them with out any problems, the car goes through the traps a ~ 4800-5000 RPM's just getting a little out of the TPI power band. One thing to rember if you have a traction problem before you will realy have one now. The best 60' I have with my 3.73's is 1.74 and thats on my best run of 12.7@104. By the way your TPI is no where near stock.

I have a 1991 Z and not sure what gears in it. They are either 323 or 342 but my question is i am goin to 373 and was wondering even if i have the 342 you think i'd notice a difference?

Depends on what you have now. 3.73's will run a LTR setup out of it's powerband before the end of the 1/4. Most guys get better times with the lower gears 3.23 & 3.42 with LTR setups.
