15's for a 3400 pound street car is pretty fast. By the way Welcome! One question for you though. Your sig say 5.7L Corvette powered??? Unless the engine has been changed, it is not Corvette powered. I am only telling you this for you own good, so people don't poke fun at you in the future, which they will do. Alot of Iroc Z/Z28's and Formula's/GTA's came with the Tuned Port Injections system, but that does not make it Corvette powered. The Corvette system is a fair bit different, The Vette has aluminum heads. different EGR system, and different fuel lines etc. Plus a bit more HP. Again unless someone has changed your engine it is Iroc powered. Again not trying to be a jerk, just stating the facts is all.

Dont feel down at first b/c he said 15's. My first time to the track i ran a 15.20@90. I thought that was *** awfull slow b/c of 14 sec. Lt1's and 13 sec. LS1's. But our cars were made in the 80's which we were without the technology and lightweight materials of today. But Kruzin Kaz is right about what you say on here b/c some of the people are always trying to correct somone and talk bad about their mistakes and lack of knowledge.
P.s. Make sure you dont misspell. Youll hear about it.

Yes I plan on doing mods! The 1st thing to go is those crappy rear end gears! I am undetermained as to what has been done to this car. It has 58K orignal miles on it but the owner before me did nothing to the car and hardly drove it. But after buying it and more carefull inspection it is obvious the hole top half has been taken off. The heads are silver in color and I am not sure if theya re stock..and I have had comments about the injectors being larger then a normal 5.7. I got to chekc for some type of ID on this items to see what the deal is.
I got a NOS kit ready for the car but...I am not sure if I should put it on a stock car?....Should I get anything done before shooting nitrous?

Lots to do before NOS. To find out what injectors you have there are #'s on the side of the injectors close to the plug themselves. I would get headers, Y pipe and a cat back system before anything else. The exhaust is the most restictive part of the whole car.

I would guess that you would run a 15.5-15.7 with your stock motor and rear end size. If you have the duel cat option,.....closer to 15.4-15.5?
My 88 Trans Am 350 tpi with long tube header, 3" exhaust, chip, pullies, etc, etc,..... with a 2.73 non-posi ran a 14.56......My set up is far from stock, yet only a tiny bit off a stock time......goes to show that a good rear end gear ratio would be worth its weight in gold...I would guess a 3.73 posi would drop 0.8 off my ET....

Be careful when giving info about what a 3.73 gear will do on a TPI.
4mul8tr, you lost some torque from the long tube headers, so yes the 2.73's had a harder time getting you going. A 3.73 would help you way more than it would help him.
Most of the time a 3.73 gear will make a stock TPI car slower because above 4500 rpm the motor loses power. If you use a steeper gear, it will spend more time above 4500 rpm than it would with the stock gear.
Welcome to the board and start doing all the free and cheap mods! You'll really wake the car up without spending too much.

15.00-15.5 bs
89 irocs with the 5.7 liter tpi run 14.6 's
my friends iroc has 2.77 gears with 80,000 kilometers
mods are hypertech chip ,airfoil, k@n filter,
i tried racing him with my 24,000 mile 86 305 tpi with 3.42 gears, he blew me to pieces, i run 15.9 with my car
i would say if your car is in good tune she will run near that time

You're making a blanket statement. Be careful. Some people got freak cars that were in the 14.3 range from the factory and others got ones that ran 15.0's.
