iroc still eating too much.
hey guys.
as i told you before, i have a 89 iroc with tpi. it is eating 1 liter of gasoline each 2 miles. i think its excesive.
i checked all the fuel line from the gas tank to engine and i didnt find any leakage. then i checked the fuel presure regulator and its working well. there is no smoke behind (i think if it is too rich then there must be black smoke). the car its running ok but still smells gasoline.
what do you think? is it normal?
what if the engine has some special camshaft? (i cant tell because i have the car just since january). if so, would it raise gas consumption?
i really enjoy driving my car but my pocket hurts...
thanks for your opinions.

Care to convert to MPG's for us who are "metrically-challaegned"
If it's not running rich and you can't find an external leak...check the crankcase for fuel smell/excessive "making" oil.

Car: 2008.5 Mazdaspeed 3 GT
Engine: 2.3 DISI Turbo
Transmission: 6 speed MT
3.79 liters to the gallon, so 2 miles per liter = 7.58 MPG = BAD
I have a huge duration cam in my car, bad O2 sensor, bad TPS sensor and still I get 12-13 MPG. Something is wrong... Check for leaks, do an injector leak down test... something...
