Are you happy with your Ford Racing 19# injectors?

For those using Ford Racing 19# injectors in your LB9.....are you happy with them?

Chaz, if you are going to get those, you might as well get chip burning equipment, and change the injector constant, or else you will run pig rich, as I am.

Thanks. I almost ordered a set from Summit today, until I heard that the connectors fit loosely on TPI's.

I guess this creats a non-weather proof connection which could lead to a short.

I think I'll order a matched set of Bosch's tommorrow from TPIS.

Why is it that the ford injectors don't work? Is it because of the impedance of the injectors not matching with the TPI computer?

What is the stock TPI injector size?

just trying to learn

The TPI's stock inj. size for a 305 is 19 lb/hr, but at a higher pressure than the FORD's. Therefore, when you put FORD inj's in, the higher pressure throws more fuel in . BTW, the connectors are exactly the same. If I could go back, I would've just got my injectors cleaned and flow-matched my cruisin performance.

Jeff, your injectors probably had the potential for refurbishing. The ones in my car ('89) were the gray Lucas type...which are notorious for solenoid failure. From what I understand they are not worth rebuilding.

I have 9200 original miles on my 5-speed IROC....and 5 out of 8 had solenoid failure. I just ordered a set of Bosch's today.

I put a set of 19# Ford svo's in my lb9 last year. They fit fine and the connectors are just like the originals. Ran a little rich in open loop until I burned a new chip. I'm happy with them.
