anyone with desktop dyno...
Someone asked me earlier what kind of power I was going to be putting out with the motor I'm puting together, and I really didn't know what to tel them. I'm hoping for over 350 at the crank before the juice. I was wondering if someone had the time to see what mine might make. I know that some if you think desktop dyno is a complete waste of time, and the only way to know for sure is to put it together and dyno it. All I want is a ballpark number. If nothing else anyone have just a good round about guess? I know these kinds of questions may get old for some of you to read over and over again, and I'm sorry for putting you all through it another time. Thanks to anyone with any help

I'm getting a touch over 406hp/470 lb/ft with larger 2.02 /1.6 valves, 10.0 to 1 compresison, 900cfm flow for the 52mm throttle body, a badly hacked flow table for 255/175 at .500, TPI, Small tube headers w/ mufflers, and because i was too lazy to look up and figure the lift for a 276hr with 1.6 i used the lift of a 270hr with 1.6 lift with the extra duration(224/230)
if your using stock 1.94/1.5 valves the its 6 less hp for the 1.94 valves and 9 hp diff with the 1.5 valves, giving you 391hp/465
looks like one heck of a good setup , just remember that desktop is usually pretty optimistic and you'll need quite a bit of tuning for that large of a cam. Also if you running MAF not SD take off about 15 hp or so for the ****ty flowing MAF (540 cfm), not to mention it probably won't register that much airflow anyway. Good luck and post your results when your done and get it to a real dyno.

THANKS! the speed pro system is a MAP setup. The guy who is going to tune mine can program one in his sleep so I'm really not too worried about that. I was thinking about larger valves actually. Looks like it'll be worth the extra money after all! Thanks again:hail:
