heated o2 connector
I just got the wire connector to install a heated o2 sensor in my headers.(part # 12126012) All 3 of the wires are white instead of 2 whites and 1 black, the wire labled C is 16ga and the other two are 18ga. According to the wiring schematic on sethirdgen , C should go to the ecm. I just want to verify that this is correct, using the larger wire (16ga) for the ecm. Also where do most of you have the 12v tapped into on a speed density car.

This is how I am wiring mine, this is quoted from another thread. Jim85Iroc wrote this
"Let me see. I can't remember what color the wires are, but regardless of their colors, 2 will be the same color and the third will be different. I think there's 1 black and 2 white, but I can't remember. The "different" color is the actual sensor wire that needs to be connected to the original pink o2 sensor wire. The other two are power and ground. What I did with mine was to buy the female GM-style plug that connects to the new oxygen sensor. I cut the original plug off of the car's harness and wired in the 3 wire plug. I ran the other 2 wires up through the loom tubing to the fuel pump relay, since the stock sensor wire goes up there anyway. I tapped the power line off of the output side of the fuel pump relay (It was either the A or E terminal - you'll want to check that with a test light or volt meter - instructions below*) and wired the ground to the bracket that holds the fuel pump relay to the firewall. When I finished, it all looked 100% stock, and allows me to change sensors without cutting any wiring.
* Fuel pump relay testing instructions. If you look at the fuel pump relay, there will be 5 wires going to it. 2 fat ones on the ends (A and E pins) and 3 thin ones. If you're using a test light, stay the hell away from the thin green wire!!!!!!! You'll fry your ECM like I did the first time. Anyway, with a test light or VOM, test the outer two wires with the car turned off. The one that lights up is the constant feed and NOT the one you want. Verify that the other one is on only when the car is running, and for a few seconds when you first turn the key. That's the output side of the relay and that's the wire you want to tap into for the oxygen sensor."

I'm the one that wrote that article, so let me clarify. The connector itself will have all three wires white, however the sensor itself will have two whites and a black. If your in doubt, you can plug the harness into the sensor and see which wires match up. The black wire needs to go to the same cavity as the purple wire (signal wire to the ECM) and the other two (pair of white wires) do not matter. Just use the sensor wire colors as your guide. Good luck.

okay, This is a very old post but i will stick to it as it is most relavent
Yesterday i hooked up my heated o2 sensor. The problem i am having is the 12 v supply.
The picture in this thread does not look like my 88 tpi however i do have 2 realys at the firewall on the passenger side. I used the one that is on the very right (when standing and looking at the engine) I think that may be for the MAF but i maybe misstaken.
Also I hooked it to the red wire going into the realy which i figured should be the hot wire? or maybe not
Please help.

Fuel pump relay location in this thread:
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...relay+location
You can verify the right one by keying up the car. It will click on for about 2 seconds and then click off. You want the wire in that relay that gets 12V+ with key turned on. Time to break out your handy dandy voltmeter and getter done!!
