MAF sensor

My Trans Am will not run (barely run) with the MAF sensor in place (between airbox and throttl body)
but runs fine if I take it out and place up by A.I.R.--so now I am not getting fileterd air....
think the MAF is faulty?

How much $$ do they run?

Are you getting enough air from the airbox? (clogged filters?)

Just replaced mine. About $200, but I bet you can dig up a better price with some research.

I had to replace my MAF recently. It was $150.00. Hope the filter change does it.

Do a search for the Wells MAF sensor.

It costs about $166 and flows better than a stock MAF does.

Will the car run with a non functioning MAF?
I priced one out at a GM dealer $613!!! Canadian--and that was at a discount.

Before you go out and dish up some cash, check your MAF relays. Do a search on the board with MAF and Vader or Red Devil and you'll find your answer, and most likely a pic of their location.
