Super Ram and Crane 2050 LT1 Cam
I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this setup:
stock bottom end 350
- Super Ram
- 200cc pro lightning heads w/ 1.6 rockers
- crane 2050 LT1 cam (pretty close to the accel 219)
http://www.cranecams.com/master/apps/chevy40.htm
- 1 5/8 long tubes with duals
- 2800 Stall and shift kit
- custom burnt chips and what not
-pullies, msd ignition, 24lb balanced injs, afpr, no emissions.. suspension stuff.. stock 3.23 rear
should i get a bigger cam? or will this work alright
shooting for high 12s...

The biggest problem you will have with those heads is matching a TPI base to a 200cc head. The 200cc head needs at least a Fel-Pro 1205. So double check that.
Alternatively, you should consider the 180cc version (they use a Fel-Pro 1204). The 200cc only flows marginally better above .500" lift and actually the 180cc flows better below .400" lift. With the cam you are looking at, even with 1.6RRs, you will spend more time below .400" than above .500". Also, the 180s have better velocity and in my opinion a better match to the Superram on a 350
In all honesty, the bigger port heads are intended for bigger motors or 350s that have monster cams and high revvers. Lastly, I don't think any of the Lightning heads support an EGR. If you have emission testing, you'll have to address that issue.

dont have to worry about emissions like you BC guys
thanks for the tip on the heads.. is there a different brand/make i should look for.. i noticed there isnt much to work with even with the 1204 gasket that i have, the ports match up pretty good
but the 180cc w/ 64cc chamber heads should be good for that setup..
would it hurt alot to use the 200cc heads as i may step up to a 406 or 383 at one point.. or would the 180cc heads be good for that too?

If you start looking at solid cams with .600" lift or more then you'd want a bigger head. But if you plan on running a cam that big, then you are going to want a bigger head than even 200s. That big of a cam would probably prefer 228cc CNC Chamber & ports. But that isn't a daily driver.
The 180s would be the perfect match for what you want to do now. Don't "sacrifice" your current setup by running a head that is far too big initally and may be too small if you want to go "all out". Wait until you get the bigger motor before you worry about bigger heads. You can always sell the 180s and buy bigger when you need it. If you have other gearhead buddies, those 180s won't be collecting dust too long.
