Just installed a A/F gauge, got a few questions that need answering.

Well I just installed a sunpro A/F gauge on my car, yea yea I know sunpro, but for 20 bucks it cant be beat, plus it looks good.

anyways, I just installed it and when I turned it on it worked fine, it's pretty cool to see it at work. Once the car warmed up and was at idle, the A/F gauge was on the very last red lean mark, is it supposed to do this at idle? I thought its always supposed to be at stoach or whatever, when I rev it up it goes into the green and then slowly goes back to the red. I have yet to take her for a spin because I haven't finished making the gauge pod for it.

If anyone can giv eme a point in the right direction on how its supposed to work/ act then I would really appreciate it.

oh yea also I have my psi at 49 WOT. out of the stock 43 psi

well... from what i have seen of the A/F guages... they tend to roll back and forth from rich to lean while driving... if at part throttle... and at idle i have seen only a couple that sit in the stoich area the whole time... they tend to either pop back and forth around the guage... or sit in the leaner section...

Your ECM probably wasn't in closed loop yet, so the O2 sensor wasn't up to temp and working yet. It will stay lean (red) until closed loop.

That is how my AM guage works. Otherwise what Chris said is basically how it works. Should always bounce back and forth normal driving. At WOT it will peg, go max rich, (green), and when you back off totally it will go back to lean.

Just my 2 cents.

on warm up when i first turnt he car on, it goes exactly at stoach, then as soon as I start driving, it will start bouncing, mostly hanging around in the stoach but showing some green.

when I floor it, it light up the entier green rich side.

I didn't hook up the back lighting for the gauge, it lights itself up just fine with the led's, plus it looks cooler lol.

Now i need an A-pillar gauge pod.

So what is the point in this gauge if it only bounces around?
