Ok I know that there are two possible chips for this If you have the car in question I need the 4 digit code on the prom itself. Im not sure why there are two different ones but thats what the gm dealer told me. If you could please tell me if your car had the g92 or high performance option with the duel cats that would help too. just trying to do some trouble shooting.

Are you sure the dealer can't get it for you from the VIN? I bet they can, they're just too lazy or dumb to realize it.

My local chevy dealer can get me any stock part i want for my car without me even telling him what kind of car it is, all he needs is a vin. I've even had to fight them when i needed non-stock parts, like when i needed a VSS for a large diameter driven gear when i swapped from the small diamter driven. They insisted that i needed the second, because it was what came on my car. BTW, my car is 2000miles from the dealer it was sold at, so i am sure it is a national system they are using.

Anyhow, if noone chirps in with your answer, and you don't feel like fighting the dealer over them being too dumb to use their computer, then you could do a search for broadcast codes on the PROM board. There are a couple of sites that have lists of what broadcast codes were used with what.

But like Ed said, they can find the right one using your vin.

z_ghost- Does your car have the dual cat setup? Is it a G92 car? meaning does it have the performance upgrade option?? this is very important?

Yes it has dual cat setup and G92.
It has all the goodys and none of the weight.

Now all I need to know is if cars that did not get the g92 option still got the same chip and if not then what are the differences between these two chips and would it be enough for a car with the G92 chip but without the options to run alright. any help will be good on this.

All of the SD 305 bins i have seen have had exactly the same VE tables (main fuel tables). If the main fuel tables are the same even though the G92 cars had better exhaust, then i doubt GM did anything else significant with the chip either.

In other words, a chip from a non-G92 305 will run fine in a G92 car. Now if you tried to run an A4 chip in an M5 car you might run into some driveability things, but it would still run the car.
