slp runners

hey,
i just recieved my slp runners in the mail and there is definately room for siamesing further.

i have an edelbrock base to go with em.

i was wondering how far i should siamese the runners if i want my horsepower peak above 5000 rpm? i have the crane emissions legal powermax that is rated for 2000-5500 rpm, and i want to be able to take advantage of the higher power band.

thanks
mat

Put everything on untouched and see how high you rev up. That stuff should rev to around 5500, so you might not want to touch it at all. If you do, I'd start by siameseing the BASE to the Runners... then test again. If you aren;t satisfied after that then and only then would I begin work on the runners. Oh yeah - I'm not sure if you did work to your upper plenum yet, so if you haven't that should go without saying. Siamese the runner outlets, and smooth the egr obstruction behind the throttle bore.

why is siamesing the runner outlets and base more beneficial than the entrance to the runners?

Hm? I didn't mean to imply that I thought that. I was just letting you know how I'd go about it. The SLP runners aren't the choke point on that setup. I think the edelbrock base is. So I'd start with the base and plenum, and if I thought I wasnted more breath I would then attack the runners. Tho, either way really is a logical progression. I have never verified whether the SLP runners are more of a restriction than the Edelbrock base so this is pure opinion.

oh

oh ok i see, thx.

when you siamese the base does that make it so that you pretty much eliminate the length of the runners from the total amount of runner?
