You can buy a hell of a third gen down here for that kind of figure. Err, I mean, the selection down here sucks.

i picked up my second third gen for $4,300. its a 92 z-28 1LE with 94,000 on it. for that price there is no way i could've gone worng. in MHO any 350 1LE is the best bang for ur buck if its in good condtion and the price is around 5g's. 4 wheel discs posi w/ performace gear ratio, B2L 350, auto, oil cooler, trans cooler, a/c delete, no t-tops alum. drive shaft, wonder bar, H/D suspension, speed density, etc. plus mine had other goodies too the best advice is just figure out what u want and look for it and stick to it. good luck shoppin!!!

figure out what ur plans are for the car or what u want to do to it, and get a camaro with as litttle miles as possible and get it w/o the mods u wanna doso u can do them.

just remeber this

they wanna go fast, so they mod they car..
then they go fast AKA beating on it.

but no matter what u do, just make sure shes a tpi, they are so easy to make power out of

thats a great amount of money to start with, u can get a real nice iroc or whatever u think is best with little mileage and perfect body,. etc or maybe u wanna get one for a little cheaper and use the extra money to put into it (or in case it breaks) its really up to u, but 5 grand is plenty

I got my '92 Z28 w\ rebuilt (new) 357 TPI w\ rebuit tranny for $4200, 92 was about the best (and most recent) TPI 350, plus it had a fresh paint job and a white-redstriped 25th anniversary package - so that's just an example that there are some serious steals out there!

5,000 dollars bought me a 1990 Iroc-Z L98, with re-polished iroc wheels (look sweeeet), brand new tires, and the G92 package. It had 113,000 on the ticker but the guy was a complete pill - near perfect interior and the car runs like its got much less mileage.

A good chunk of change for decent third-gen hunting. Good luck!

HA, you can have mine for a lot less than that, and it's got some kick to it. I'm in PA too.

I saw a well optioned 1989 GTA 350 auto with 53K go for $5000. It had never seen snow and was gorgeous.
