need ppls superior knowledge...

i officially hate my carb. I have had 3 different carbs put on the car and they all have sucked. i want to go to tpi and have looked through this whole board. can neone recomend a place to get the stuff in southeren california? what is every part that i need. also, being an ametuer should i have it professionally installed? trust me i looked all over these boards.

What sould i pay for one? can i rip it off my old engine if i get a new engine and bolt it on? give me links to other posts that are useful if you want. gimme all the info you can because im doing the swap before the weather turns to bad. HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO START A CARBED ENGINE IN THE COLD? well at least my engine...

Your Best bet is to buy a Wrecked TPI car and swap it all over.

Don't try to peice it together, as it wil Nickle and dime you to death for sure.

Trust me

Second best choice would be to buy a complete setup off ebay.

Be careful what you buy off Ebay. Many TPI's are listed as complete, but far from it.

I'll second that. The little stuff you don't think about WILL get you. A donor car is the best way to go.

If you purchase off of ebay make sure that when it says complete, that the list is large.

The main peices that you will need depending on if you want Speed Density or MAF or don't care.

1 ECM w/ chip (86-89 MAF, 90-92 SD. 86-88 Cold Start Injector, 89-92 doesn't have CCI.)
2 Lower base manifold
3 Wiring harness (complete and not burned or cutoff)
4 Plenum and runners (runners will have cold start valve if 88 and earlier, will not if 89 and later. Match to ECM. Is easier to patch the hole for the injector if using an 89 and later ECM than to make a hole.)
5 Throttle Body (Auto or Man?) Which ever you have, the linkage could be added.
6 All of the sensor would be great, but good luck finding that.
7 8 Injectors according to the size and pull of the engine.
8 Fuel Rails and regulator (later purchase Adjustable)
9 MAF Sensor (if they have it, these things are expensive) - only for MAF setup, of course.

Hope this helps. I am sure that I forgot something, I usually do.
