Not sure if i got it right. But the product that im talking about is a sending unit which signals the gauge on the level of fuel in the tank. I have a 92' camaro. Its gone bad and i need to get it replaced, I went to autozone and it said $204.00, This couldnt be the part that i was talking about could it? Any info?????

I just replaced my fuel pump this weekend and I saw the part you are talking about. it would not seem to me that it would cost $204.00. It is just a floater on a metal pivot arm which is connected to a potentiometer. I could be wrong but it didn't look like a $204.00 part to me. I would take the pump assembly out of the fuel tank and make sure that the thing works before you go and replace it. Take a Multimeter and connect across the terminals of the potentiometer; put the Multimeter on ohms (resistance) and see if the ohms value changes when you move it, if so it is most likely good. also check your wiring for continuity. Also, it is a very delicate devise so it may have been damaged (damage will be obvious when checking ohms values).

The sending unit itself can be pricey...so yes they probably have the right part. Call your local GM dealership and ask for a price on a fuel sending unit, See what they tell you. BTW I would change the fuel pump (if fuel inj.) while the tank is out. This will save you a bunch of bullSht.
