I would Go with Taylor Spira-pro wires, Regular Delco plugs, and a MSD blaster coil.

And how big of a gap should I use to gain the power potential of the MSD blaster coil you think?

I like the MSD 8.5mm Superconductor wires, they have a very low resistance. Delco plugs, And either the MSD coil or the D.U.I. coil.

AC Delco plugs, Accel or MSD cap & rotor, MSD Spirolcore wires & MSD Blaster coil. Stock gap on the plugs unless you use the MSD 6 CD box, then you can widen the gap some.

See? These all look like fine combos. Has anyone had twoi different ignition setups w/ one being much better? Hmmm - has anyone experienced a bad ignition product, one I should stay away from?

I guess pretty much any set of good rep 8mm or 8.5mm with any good rep Coil will do the trick.

I had an all Accel set up and heard MSD was better. So when it came time to do a tune-up, I installed an MSD set up (both with Bosch Platinum plugs). To tell you the truth, I didn't see much of a difference. I'm installing the Accel Brute Thunder HEI coil and changing everything back to Accel. Just looks nicer when everything isn't mis-matched. But the choice is really up to you.

I did Not care much for the MSD Wires.

I like the Taylors Much better, but thats just My opinion.

Performance wise, its all the same.

I tried an ACCEL coil with ACCEL 8mm wires, cap & rotor and two days later I gave them away figured it was just one of those learning lesson in life. Switched to Taylors which were ok. I tried Splitfires and liked them so much I switched to Bosche and liked these so much I went back to AC Delcos...

Currently I use a GM cap & rotor, GM wires (7mm) and a Jacobs Ultra Team (Street Master & Ultra Coil) with GM wires and AC Delcos at 60 gap (up from 45). Pricey setup but couldn't be happier with it. Great ignition system (Jacobs) makes alot of power. Highly recommend it too bad they cost so much compared to MSD, etc.

my .02 cents worth,
RP.

Ignition choice.

i just did a small tune-up on the 92'... i used ac delco rapid fire plugs,ac delco wires and blue streak cap and rotor..purchased all at advance auto...car runs like a champ...if i had some real serious mods like a blower, turbo or what not yeah i would run some heavy duty stuff..but for right now..basic works just fine...

yea unless you plan on doing some real heavy mods, regular old AC delco stuff will work just fine. i have delco plugs, cap and rotor, taylor wires, and a delco coil, all work great and not too pricey either

Well, In the future the mods list might be something like:

Ported Upper Intake
Ported L98 Heads
Hooker Comp 1 5/8
Hooker 3" cats Back
Maybe A Cam to handle the better intake and heads.

I figure regular old low resistance 8mm wires with a performance coil and delco plugs should be ok from what I hear. OEM cap and rotor all the way.

I'm happy with my Moroso Blue Max wires, Accel Supercoil and AC plugs.

Just something to keep in mind

I have the taylor 8mm wires ordered to directly fit my car and it did not come w/a coil wire. It took 15 minutes of arguing with summit to get one. The wires are actually mfg. under summits name, but they are taylors. The wires are great though.

I use TPIS 8mm wires, Bosch Platinum plugs, Accel cap & rotor, and MSD blaster II coil. I hvae been running this combo for 4 years with no prblems.

I am going with the Accel 300+ ignition system soon.
