Fuel pump wiring ??

Fuel pump wiring ??
I have an ongoing problem with the car starting and then stopping immediately. With ignition on and before cranking the engine the fuel pump relay is constantly clicking. Car will start but dies immediately. Checked wires as much as I can see between relay and oil switch unit and appears okay. Checked for any grounding problems and black/white wire to fuel pump relay shows grounding okay but also noticed that there is an open circuit/ ground on the tan / white wire which goes to fuel pump. I split the wire under the rear seats and checked for ground again - there was no ground at the relay connection but the wire to the pump showed grounding.
Question is should the wire to the pump show an open circuit - strange thing is that when checking the pump from the ALDL connector the pump runs and fuel pressure is good

Just out of curriousity....
have you tried a new relay?
(there are a few wiring schematics off of the tech article section on the main page of this site, it should help you better than a thousand words)
