As for the year, get the number off the fuel rail or the injectors and check the numers at http://iroc.fbody.com/

It can tell you what year / engine it came off of.

As for the 2nd pic, if those are 2 hard vacuum lines coming off of it, and it has a plug going to it, it looks to be the EGR solenoid.

One vacuum line goes to a vacuum port under the throttle body, the other line goes to the EGR valve. This is what the ECM used to cycle the EGR valve open and closed.

Three tubes, 2 for water flow 1 for PCV valve. Two tubes, 2 for water flow. The 2 tube throttle body would more than likely be for an LT1 intake. The PCV valve in mounted into the intake on the drivers side and connects with a short 180* piece of tubing to a port an inch or so away. Does not go to the throttle body.

So can i replace the throttle body that i have (3 lines) with the 2 line throttle body and just get a small breather for the valve cover instead of having that line hooked up?

I would not reccomend doing that. May not get adequate air flow through engine. This could cause pressure build up and create oil blowby. By the way, is picture #1 the TB you're saying has only 2 tubes? I see 3. The 2 large ones are for water, the small one for the PCV valve. Also, if the other was made for an LT1 intake, the throttle cable connection is different.
