vacum hose
I was doing a few things to my 87 and found a vacum hose disconnected. Not sure when or how long it's been off, but would like to re-connect it. I've looked all over the top of the engine and used a small mirror to go between the intake runners trying to find where it goes. With the engine running the hose has vacum, and it runs into the wiring harness grommet right by the top heater hose on the firewall. From the length of the hose and the bends in it, it looks like if goes to the back of the throttle body, but just can't find anywhere with an open connection. I've taken a pic of the hose. It has a female connection on the end of it. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks-Dan

That picture shows the vacuum hose for the heater control valve. Thats the only wire I can think of that is that long and skinny. Look on top of the heater control valve and there should be a nipple if thats the vacuum hose I'm thinking of.

That must be the heater control valve vacuum tube like he said. Mines a bit different, it has a hose like that but I think its a bit shorter and it has a smaller stiffer tube that goes from heater control valve to that, connecting the two. So if that doesnt reach, your probably missing the skinnier stiffer tube.

You were both right. It fits the top of the valve perfectly. I just never thought it went to the valve, I was looking under the intake and didn't even consider the heater valve. Thanks to both of you!!!!
