building 383 stroker need help!!!!!
i have a 350 block and i am putting in the powerhouse 383 stroker kit, and was wanting to know what the best heads, cam and intake i would need to get to work with a supercharger and that will give me 500hp, or if anyone knows what to use to get 500hp without the supercharger and have it be all motor. iknow it wont be cheap but i want it to be as cheap as possible and still get that much power. iused the search button but it didnt help me out enough. thanks for any suggestions.

hey man where in fl are you located at? I'm in brandon... anyway i'm in the process of building a 383 with vortec heads, comp cams xe288hr, rpm air gap, edel 750 carb. now according to desktop dyno i should be making about 450hp and 500tq. one of the other guys on this website(www.fl-thirdgen.org) is building a 383 with afr190 heads and holley stealth ram and is expecting about 500hp and 520tq. so it is possible to get those #'s out of your engine without a sc/tc.

Check out the last four issues of Chevy High Performance. The Twister II series is a GM Performance Parts HT 383 and g*ddamn do they get it to make some nasty, all motor, power. That's the way I'm going. I think they got like 500 foot lbs, and 490 something HP for right around $6000. That is with absolutely no bottom end work on the motor (aside from the stroke job done by GM). I'm probably going to go with the Vortec heads, not the $1300 AFS ones. I just can't wait.

If you're researching a motor I strongly recommend going to CHP's website and checking out their flow number database. Making HP is about moving air in and out of a motor. If you're keeping the TPI I'd check out some of the things guys on these boards have done. Look at their sigs, see their times and check out their mods. The times will speak for themselves. Call up Comp Cams and ask them about their cams. They'll probably recommend a good one. I've also heard of good results with the Hotcam kit.

I hope you have not spent any money on aftermarket TPI parts because you will have a hard time making 500hp with a LTR intake. If I were you I would think about a LT1 or stealth ram intake, both of which will be cheaper than aftermarket TPI stuff and more likely to achieve your 500hp goal. Or drop another $3000 and get a sc
