Stroker kit for L-98, can I use it on an LT1?
Hello everyone, I am seriously toying with the idea of selling my Iroc and purchasing an LT1 6spd camaro. Since I have not yet installed my stroker kit into my '88L-98(vette), would it be possible to use it on an LT1 engine? The stroker kit consists of a :eagle cast crank, rods, bearings, KB hyperkeunetic(mispelled)pistons, LT4 hot cam, compcams springs(#986-16), 1.6 pro-magnum roller rockers, fluiddamper balancer,
any info would be great!!!

im thinking you can do it since your lt4 hot cam has the thing on it for the optispark. I dont see why it would not work. I would maybe possibly ask motor swap since someof them in there no some what on lt1 engines. Im sure it would work thought, but im not positive.

Car: 1987 Camaro Z-28

The only problem is the balancer, LT1's have a 2 piece balancer, L98's have the std 1 piece. There may be a way around this, possibly just a LT1 balancer for externally balanced engines or having the rotating assembly internally balanced.

Pitfall # 2 - 96 and later OBDII cars, had crankshaft position sensor modifications on the front of the crank hub from what I understand.
Stay with the IROC anyway - it's lighter, and you will be limited by the LT1's bore. (You can currently use a 400SB in the IROC, but can't in an LT1 car with the same level of ease. This giving you the power if you choose to go up to a 440CI SB instead of the LT1's maximum of about 416CI or so, both stroked. Also keeps you away from OptiSpark HELL)
