tpi intake manifolds, stock ported or vortec?

I am putting a 1 piece seal 350 in my 85 z28. I have the stock intake manifold and, was thinking of what would be the best bang for the buck. port what ive got, get matched runners and run a set of stock/aftermarket heads(64cc) or spend $920 for vortec manifold($400) and vortec heads($520) a set. what do you guys think? has anyone used their stock manifold, and had good results at good response and mid range power(5500-6000 rpms)? if so,
can anyone point me in the direction of a good set of 64cc heads for $500 or less, to be port matched. scrogginsdickey claims you get 50 horse bolt on from the vortec setup. but not everyone has a thousand bucks to throw around. I can spend the grand, but I'd rather not if I can get the similiar results with the stock manifold. any advice GREATLY appreciated. THANX!

My opinion

For $1000 dollars I'd port the stock heads, not just pocket porting but some real porting. thete is a post on here some where goes into detail about getting great flow numbers. port work $500-$600 then siamese your stock base throw on a set of headers and a Lt4 hot cam. thats just what i'd do though. Lt4 hot cam kit $500 at scoggin dickey comes with 1:6 roller rockers. siamesed base free if you diy fairly easy mod.
