Goodwrench 350 and TPI

I'm thinking of putting my 86 TPI intake on a GM Goodwrench 350. What does anybody think? I know it's not a super motor, I need a car that I drive to college, and it beats driving around a rice box. The only thing that concerns me is it's 8.5:1 compression ration and where to mount the knock sensor. Some insight will be helpful.
Also has anyone used this engine for a TPI swap before?

Thanks
Dave

I have not used this engine before but I don't think you have any problems with it. 8.5 compression isn't that bad but you could always have the heads milled to raise it up or get another set of heads when you get some extra cash. As for the knock sensor. I put a tpi unit(86 maf system) onto an older block. I just took out the block drain plug on the passenger side and put my sensor there.
