14.49@103 Need more Something?

I was using the G-tech last night and this was the best I could get the car to run. I have done the mods in my signature and the car was faster stock. I was using a pretty level road and was timing myself going in both directions. I am running the stock chip for now. I was looking for some insight on how to get this car into the 13s before I put the bottle on it. I ran 14.04@95 with the stock motor. I was spinning a little off the line. I am using the stock wheels with Futura 245/5016 on them. I need some insight why I lost so much ground. Thanks in Advance.

I would have to say the biggest problem would be in the chip. You are really going to need to tune your car. If you have access to a scan tool then plug it in and go from there. I havent done a ton of mods to my car but just tuning my prom to exactly what my car wanted made a world of difference. That and I am pounding out 30 mpg on the highway.

With some good tires and perhaps a some LCA's/LCA relocation brackets and tuning you could be looking at low 13's. Also consider a new torque converter before you consider N2O. It will shave a lot off your time...

New chip, last time at the track my car ran 15.2 @ 91 mph with stock chip. 14.4 @96.8 mph with SLP chip less than 1 hour later. Neither of these chips are tuned for my application but just shows that the stock chip sucks.

Note: I picked up .3 sec and 3 mph by switching to the $70 slp chip before I put a cam and other internal parts.

from the quarter mile times and your mph, its seems you have a traction problem. This problem should be adressed in the suspension boards, as they will probably have a better answer.

His mph is from the G-tech, that is going to be about 6 mph faster then if he would have went to a real track. His track mph would be about 97mph.

When I noticed the title I thought that mph was way high for the time, but g-techs measure the time at the end of the quarter mile, whereas tracks actually measure the average speed over the last hundred feet(?). Anyway, even with that mph you should be in the low 14s at least. Traction is probably the problem.

I would go to a track and get some real world results. Traction on the street is not going to be anywhere near what you can get at the track.

A little tip. Tune by MPH and not by ET. ET can vary considerably with traction, MPH is much more consistant.

Go to the DIY prom board. With those mods your car obviously isn't running right. Get the equipment to burn proms and do it yourself instead of relying on an off the shelf tip. The only person who can correctly tune your car is you or someone who has your car.

from what i've heard, the LT4 needs an aftermarket or custom chip to run properly. a good tune up and some drag radials will get you your 13s. By the way, what did it take to get that cam t work with those heads

I believe G-Techs are easily fooled by wheel spin. It severely throws the computations off. Common, 14.4 @103? This does not make much sense. 103 is easily a mid to low 13 second pass.
Unless his top-end charge is incredible, I call wheel spin.

103 is not an accurate mph reading. The g-tech measures mph higher than it should be due to the way it is calculated vs at the track.

My car g-teched at 14.2@105, at the track I ran a 13.6@100

nick

The g-tech is measuring your actual mph, while the track is measuring your avg. mph over the last 66 ft
