Runs like a DAWG

What woud cause your car to run like a dog? I have noticed that the headers glow a little bit red when I rev it in park. I rev it up to 5G in P and the headers seem to glow red, just enought to notice. It gets hot when sitting in traffic or at the bank, but it seems to run OK onthe freeway and in traffic, just underpowered? HELP!

You have alot of mods trying to get along. Did it ever run right? Or is it something that just came up.
I'd start with checking everything over, and see if it needs a tune up.
These cars will heat up when just sitting around in warmer weather, so if it is hot in WA right now that could be it.
TES headers use cheaper and thinner metal so they might glow more than others. I have them too, and have seen them glow also, but only when the car wasn't running right. Check your timing and fuel pressure. Usually when they glow an abnormal amount its the mixture being off or the timing is screwed.
That should get you started.

If you headers are glowing you either have a lean mixture or your timing is retarded too much. I have the Edelbrock TES & they don't glow when it's tuned right.

I had my timing set at 6deg advanced. I pushed it up to 12 adv. I also increased my fuel psi from 43.5 to 50. NO change
