Vortec or ProAction heads?
i'm in the process of picking out parts for my 355 tpi build. i was thinking about two options. i can get a pair of vortecs for $300 for the pair. if i get these i will get the vortec intake manifold with it, but i am also thinking about the proaction heads. now these will cost more and i will be keeping the stock intake manifold and possibly port it later or upgrade to totally new one. what should i do here? thanks guys!

should i go with the vortec setup then? what size intake runners are the vortecs? this setup should be good for well over 300 hp right? i'm looking to run mid to low 13's with 3.73's and many other mods. is this possible with them? thanks

Well i dont know that its good for "Well over 300" but its not bad..
The intake runners are small, somewhere around 160-170?? I'm guessing
Talk to 3.8transam
He just finished, he did it all in one big project. Prom burning, LT4 hot cam, Vortecs, and SDPC base.
He likes it I think

Well after seeing all the Flow comparsions of PAs, I would say go with them, even though you have a stock intake, Im sure you will upgrade later in the future. Honestly you cannot beat the Prices on PAs, if you want to do some porting, check out what I did to my TPI www.geocities.com/softtailduece01 it was a minor job and I know people have taken more off.

i love it :-) pulls like a raped ape from 2500 up, puts u back in the seat and wants to break loose :-)
definitely one of the best bang for buck combos out there....i ported my heads and intake myself as well and running a lt4 hotcam...u will need custom tuning or burn your own proms to make it work(not rich as pig below 2500 )
drop me aline if u want more info or repost here

sounds like a good setup you got. how much did you pay for the heads and intake? and these are the L31 vortecs?? i was looking on scoggin dickey and they are relatively cheap but you have to buy the intake manifold. have you taken them to the track yet or no? thanks for the info:lala:
