early to late tpi
ok im just curious but.... whats the diffrence with the maf and map wiring harness for the tpi. i ask because everyone says taht there are only two plugs for the maf and three for the map.... but thats not entirely true. maf harness and tbi harness have a third plug that does not go into the ecm but into another plug. what is that plug for? im swapping from tbi to tpi i want a speed denstity setup and those dont have that extra plug. they have three plugs that go into the ecm. how is this going to affect my car. is anything not going to work? im just curious because if this is not worth it im going back to tbi but id rather not do that. can some one clear this up for me thanks

Well, If you look at it that way, You could say the MAP harness has 4 plugs.
3 for the ECM< and one wich Im pretty sure goes into the Dash Harness ( mines still on the garage floor, haha )
To Go from the TBI harness to SD TPI Your going to do a bit of re-wiring.
You would need the pigtails from a SD harness, and then complete pinouts of each harness, and start putting htings where they neeed to go.
Then, Your going to need to run Wire for the injectors.
You may save yourself ALOT of hassle simply buying a SD harness off Ebay, But they are Damn hard to find and getting really expensive ( I paid neer 300 for mine w/ computer and memcal)
Yo could also buy a MAF harness for alot cheaper, and Convert it wich I belive would be easier than the TBI.
Anyways, Hopefully that helped answer your quetion, Its late and Im Chlorine Baked here

it sorta cleared it up..... well i just won an auction for a speedenstity setup. only needed the harness but ur right really hard to find. so 500 for the setup isnt bad and i have an extra i can either sell back or polish then sell or polish and replace my current one then sell the one i replaced. anyways. i also have the pig tails for a sd but didnt get how to repin... im dumb. and a maf harness and a tbi harness. but i want speed denstity and i wanna save my slef the head aches so i just decded to find a harness. so from the sound of it though ur sayin that the other plug is for the under dash stuff. right? and the sd harness should have it right? let me know if i got that right thanks. ...............and chlorine baked?

Sounds like your on the right track.
You have a MAF harness, and TBI harness.
At this pint, if your electricall inclined i would repinn the MAF haress.
If your not... you really shouldnt be doing this swap in the first place
Yes as far as I know, the other plug is for te dash harness.
And Chlorine baked, as In i just got out of water polo practice and I feel retarded.
