Is this a good cam choice....

I emailed the guys at Comp Cams to help me out with my fuel injected 327 project. I told them every single detail of my buildup, car, engine, exhaust, drivetrain, air/fuel. I asked them to recommend a cam that would be good for a high rpm fuel injected engine. Here is the reply;

Dustin,

The cam that I recommend is our part number 12-326-3. This cam will give you the performance that you are needing and work with the aftermarket setup on your computer system.
If you have any other question's, please feel free to either return
e-mail or call me @ 800-999-0853 ext. 543.

I've heard good things about the 262H cam.

I think that for a street driven 327, it would be perfect. That's enough duration @ 0.050" for a healthy 350, and should help your 327 breath a little higher than average.

You're saying that you want high revs. How high are we talking? 6,000?

BTW, that's probably an acceptable LSA for a fuelie engine.

What kind of EFI are you running? Which ECM?

I think that's one of the Extreme Marine cams. Why the reduced lift? Are you planning on using stock heads?

You might find that your TBI setup will have some pretty serious issues with that duration (218 @ .050). Not saying don't do it just that you will be spending alot more on prom work to get the TBI to run 1/2 way reasonably. Then of course you will be tossing that money out the window when you replace the existing EFI with a more aggressive system...

my .02 cents worth,
RP.

Hey guys, I would like to rev around 6000 and higher. Well currently I will be using an aftermarket TBI setup with some recommendations that Palric gave me ( cam setup), but I told the Comp guys I would be using a complete TPIS Miniram setup or the Holley Stealthram setup, as well as their wiring and ecm. I don't know why the lift is so low, I have stock heads but they have 2.02/1.6 valves, 3 angle grind on the valves, port and polish, dual springs, 1.5 roller rockers, screw in studs, guideplates, hi-perf pushrods, ect. I will be upgrading the fuel/air by the end of 2003 so I just wanted a recommendation on a cam to run with it. I will be running TBI for a good part of this year.
Thanks for your input.
