I'm not positive here but probalby from the high 15' to 17's I would think. Somewhere in that range depending on the driver.

If you got a real 305 with REAL gears in the back you should ook at about 15.0 maybe squeak in 14.9... i did.. then I put some pulleys free mods, free flowing exhuast and home made ram air..
and I nailed a 14.5 with a 2.225 60' time...
check my sig for dyno results!

I hope that "real 305 ....with real gears" wasnt directed at my baby!
Although the L03 isnt the quickest....It could be a lot worse and I could have a LG4.....oh
Next year will be different for this L03!

my LG4 was faster than all you TBI guys
and for the 88 GTA, i would think mid 15s in stock form, maybe 15.3 if can really drive

A 1988 305 TPI 5spd ran the quarter mile in about roughly 15.2. It wasn't until after 1990 when they came with the hot cam that you could hit 15 flat or even squeek into the 14's. East has 92 without the G92 and ran a 15.1. STIFFLER has a 92 G92 equipped car and got into the 14's. So....expect to run low 15's.
Hope this helps.

Brad's LG4 was also a far cry from typical LG4 engines...
he wussed out and got a 355 before we could match mods...
So if I build a 350 you'll go 400 block? lol

But a 377 has the power up high... if you wanna take ricers from a roll go 377... if you wanna compete on the strip go 400/383.
The only other reason to go 377 is because you can do it on a budget.

hhahah...very true......i just like budget aspect of it.
then again, any further build up of my 355 is out of the question, due to budget constraints. hahaha

well you will get alot of different responses on this one. Stiffler is the guy to talk to. his 92 Z is quick. he will have some great tips.
but seeing as i am up, i will give you some ideas:
- free flowing cold air intake with high flow filter. this is a cheap and effective mod
- headers, mandrel bent y-pipe, high flow cat (if you need one, if you know how to get around emissions, just run a piece of pipe), and good 3" cat-back exhaust system with a high flow muffler (i like true dual exhaust myself, but a cat-back will do just fine and is more functional for a daily driver)
- new cam, lifters, springs, and push rods. i say push rods cause your car has a high mileage. with the 5 speed and roller cam setup you can get something with fairly substantial lift. however, unless you want to get into custom chips, make sure the cam and the stock computer will get along
- 1.6:1 roller rockers will help out as well, but arent necessary
- adjustable fuel pressure regulator
- 3.42 or 3.73 rear end gears. normally 3.73s are better, but the TPI setups dont like high rpms near as much as carbs, so 3.42s might be better for you
anyway that should get you to your goal no problem. Stiffler will be able to give you some more details on what he has done to get his car where it is and Daz and Acceld Z know tons about TPI systems and good cams for TPI. these are the guys to talk to.

Easy now there slade....ha ha Its only a matter of time before I swap out that brutal cat back and reap the full rewards of those headers on the Mighty L03.......Also I think my engine/tranny are both in dire need of a rebuild...maybe next year.

Yes, it will be very interesting indeed, with comments like that. You give me the incentive to go and do something that I wasn't planning on doing just yet. Hmmmmmm, what could it be....I guess it will have to wait for the next track day...

Dave : seeing how you were knocking LG4's ........i just thought i'd remind you that you & i have a .5 difference ......WITH MY LG4 and you're TBI with headers VS my carb with no headers and basicly stock @16.3 and probly could of brought it down to 16.0 if i had more fuel with me at Cayuga ......cause my gauge went to $hit on me
.............J/K buddy .......
Mark

CHEAP MODS:
Cold air induction---works wonders $10 Home depot
Port Plenum- helps out a little about $10 bucks if you have a dremel tool already
TB Bypass----- I don't think it does anything but hey I see where it can warm up the air.. $2
TPI Airfoil $20 to $50 find it on ebay
Expensive ones
Set of headers anywhere's from $100 to $1000 SLP's are great
Free up your exhuast (Dynomax ultra Flow works wonders..
Don't buy any aftermarket chips because they are crap espcially HYPERCRAP.. **Everyone from dyno day will tell you my look on my face when it made 1hp..... if that!! STILL PISSED!! AHAHAHHA
And oh ya!! Don't listen to these guys promoting the LG4, LO3...
When the **** LB9**** rules supreme in 305's
That should get the 305 pot stirred!!
hehehehhehee

You had better watch yourself, Dave. I think it might be an omen that there are 2 TA's that both have LG4's and both have a driver named Kevin, gunning for ya...
