I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS $HIT!!!! ahh

I won this auction for a HUGE, I mean HUGE poster of the Shelby GT500 from Gone in 60 Seconds.

Anyhow, I come in to my house today and my dad said it arrived. I go and get the tube, open it, and the poster is damaged. The tube was like squashed in the middle. The result is a big crack down the poster like this white crackle effect.

My dad comes in and says "I'm sorry, I accidently stepped on your poster tube when I found it outside our door".

Man it is such a nice poster, good thing I got insurance. Besides I don't think it was my dad's fault, because the poster tube was already bent in half and there was ductape around the center.

I'll just make the post office pay. But the moral of the story is, maybe I wasn't meant to own a mustang poster!

I am not a big fan of mustangs, but I would trade my camaro for the Shelby Mustang GT500 anyday. It is beautiful.

And next time watch your ****ing language when you reply and don't be such a ******.

You really should be careful what you say. Some day your mouth / attitude is gonna get you into trouble. You need to relax, all i did was state an opinion,

And as far as me getting pumped by mustangs, lmao, i never claimed to have a fast car, nor the best looking one nor do i care.

Too bad it's also as far from a "real Gt500 as a mustang could get, but it still looks sweet. Buy a project mustang fastback, and the bodykit is $5000US, some paint and voila!

I actually saw a car close to Elanor.. actually her daughter I guess.. it was a a year younger or older, can't remember.. but it had the color tones and interior like Elanor.. man it was a sweet sounding car, never saw it run on track though but all things considered, I respect most of the cars made in the 60's... they were amazing cars...

Too bad the poster got smashed.. when it doubt blame the mail man hehe.

Myself not knowing much about Fords, thought the 1967 Mustang Shelby GT 500 looked just like eleanor... but when I looked for pictures of 1967 Shelby GT 500's, they looked nothing like it.... I heard there is a lot of fibreglass on eleanor, and probably weighs another 600 pounds.. LOL

I do like the REAL Shelby GT 500... but not enough to take it over a 1967 Camaro RS/SS 302 droooooooool

another Ford story on a GM website

Hey EasySpeed,

I had Mustangs. My buddies had Mustangs. Now we have Camaros and Firebirds and other GMs. We ALL learned the hard way about Fords and especially... Mustangs GT500 or otherwise.

I'm still p*ssed at Ford because of all the repairs I had to do on my Mustangs. Stock stuff that broke just from poor design.

What really gets me p*ssd about Ford is knowing that they (Ford) knew that I could have been rear-ended at anytime during my ownership of the Mustang and had a reasonable chance of being been burned alive due to their abysmal design (gas tank in the trunk for those of you who are unaware).

If you buy a Ford be sure to get a fire extinguisher too.

my .02 cents worth,
RP.

My dad spent on two Ford vehicles within a 2 year period... a Mustang and an Aerostar... saddest day when he switched over... also the most expensive years too.. my mom has nothing but bad memories of both those cars... the worst part was when the engine siezed due to some CT tech not putting the oil plug back the depreciation was insane... absolutely worthless...

The aerostar was garbage.. everything broke in it as I recall... dad came running back to GM lol

Anyone trying to sell a Ford has to compete with all the rental company (fleets) which drives the prices down for every Ford.

Aerostars have a hideous record for self combusting... with the people still inside. Terrible, horrific stories. IMHO for this reason Ford ought to be put down like a distempered dog.

my .02 cents worth,
RP.

I remember when I was 12 or 13 my dad had a ford 91 ford truck. It was a v6 but not a ranger it was an f150 or something. Anyway in the time he had it for 3 years it caught fire 3 times! Talk about dangerous POS. Some 3rd party safety reviewers are saying the the focus was released prematurely and quite a number of fire reports have been filed. Yet the wheels section in newspaper still seems to praise the thing like its a bently or something.

I will never forget the time that the Ottawa Citizen put a ford truck in the wheels section as their feature (every friday wheels section has a quote show unquote or readers ride vehicle with the owner being interviewed, takes up a whole page). Basically some chick bought a nice condition ford f150 and painted it pink. Whats that you ask? what motor? stock! What suspension, lift/lowering kits? None! What mud bogger tires? Nope! 100% stock early 90s truck painted pink. Freaking 8000 truck with a 2000 paintjob gets a feature. Ottawa has some niiiiiiiiiiice vehicles, but that would not even come close in the top 5000. Complete BS.

hehehe the interviewer/feature chooser is female but you never know whats going on... neither was/is hot. I think its more like the editor should NOT be near the wheels section. She probly was like ooo neato, how cute a pinky truck, you want to be in the citizen?

I Remember the first Time I had to change a Water Pump on a Ford. I took out all the freekin bolts I think a bout 50 and as I pulled the pump forward the DIP STICK fell on the Floor. Whats That? What does the oil dipstick have to do with the water Pump? I would love to meet the crack heads that designed those things.

whew YOu guys got me started. I could just spit everytime I think about having to fix somebodys busted down ford I get shivers just thinking about it.
