Cleaning an engine Block

Anybody know of any shops that will chemically clean and magnaflux an engine block in Ontario? Preferably close to London, but I'm willing to drive to Toronto.

Have you tried Attichison Machine in London ( I think the name is spelled wrong ) but they are suppose to be very good.... Or Kraushaar Machine in Tillsonburg. He does sonic testing, which is actually better then magnaflux.

ya, I have talked to Atchison here in town, as well as Answer Machining. I will give Kraushaar a call though. Thanks

Magnaflux shows you surface cracks. It doesn't repair them.
Most engine building machine shops do this, cause putting cracked parts back in defeats the purpose of rebuilding.
There is also a new way, called sonic testing. I think it is only used on the block. It detects cracks inside the casting, that are not visible on the surface. It's suppose to be very effective and allows the shops that build race engines to bore for much bigger pistons.

I had mine done by Atchison Machine Services.

www.atchisonracing.com

They did a great job, and it was a reasonable price. The only complaint I have is that it took them a long time to get around to it. They mainly stick to hardcore race engines.
