New Paint - Opinions..?
Well, lucky me, I've come across someone who's been doing vehicle painting all his life, and can get me a 'great deal' (I pay for materials) on a new paintjob...funny how everyone seems to 'know a guy' eventually.
Anyways, currently, my car is Black Sapphire (a deep, shimmering navy blue), and most colour changes would look bad, but this is what I propose. Being a fan of FlyinLow's colour, I believe it's Chrysler Platinum or something, I redo the car in that silvery colour; in addition, have two racing stripes of the original vehicle colour as well. This way, the car still gets a colour revamp, but will still match with under the hood and such minor places (I aim to get the door jambs, etc., done, though). I used one of Flyin's images to do up a quick Photoshop of how the scheme may look - keep in mind, this was just a quick mock up (and it's just a base Bird, not a T/A... )
Let me know what you think!

Actually that looks pretty sweet. I like the sapphire as well, but I like that pic better. One suggestion...if you're gonna repaint the whole thing, you should do the strips with a bit of blue/purple pearl...give it that extra shine.

Good idea Axure... and also IROCKER... let me *** an idea in here... instead of a solid pearl like IROCKER suggested, mask off checker marks all the way down the stripes, so you get a checkered flag look
I'd stick withthe Black Sapphire, but thats me, cause I LOVE that colour... same colour as the Oldsy.

just a suggestion, don't get plain jane stripes. Put like... 92 camaro heritage stripes on the car or something. But if you do go with the regular plain jane stripes, i got some blue ducktape somewhere in my garage

Actually I painted a 4th gen R/C car body just like that except the blue and the silver are reversed. It's one of only two of my paint jobs that everyone at work loves. The other was a truck body and, coincedentally enough, it's blue on silver.

On a fourth gen, silver on blue looks amazing. On a third gen though, I'm not sure. Your blue on silver might actually look better.
