Well, not to make you feel bad, but he will beat you. Those VR6's had 178 horsepower, and the jettas are not real heavy. you have around 140 or so. If he cant drive and you can launch well maybe, but I think your going to get beaten quite badly.

Oh, and as for 0-60 in 7.2, I'd say there's no chance. I have a 2.8 in my camaro, and Id be impressed if it could do it in under 10. Of course I raced a prelude with the car, and lost with my nose to his door. Obviously a 1995 prelude is faster than a 2.8. But the surface we raced on and his way of shifting really fell to my advantage. Before my tranny blew, my car would shift hard and fast, and everytime that kid put his clutch in, he'd fall back and I'd pull on him. But as for 7.2, I have a 305 LG4 in my trans am project, and I doubt it pulls that, and it has a cat-back, open element filter with functional cowl induction, and no smog pump. And that car will destroy my camaro like you wouldn't beleive. Anyways, good luck and hope he cant drive.

Are you going to race in you Bird or your new Grand Am?

You will smoke him in your Grand Am, Jetta's are slow.

Yea man, I know you love your bird and all, but when it comes to racing you gotta use your fast car. Smoke the bastard in your GA GT.
