87 z28 vs. 94 dodge stealth

Hey everyone, my brother just got a 94 dodge stealth dohc. Tomorrow im going to the sac speedway and finally will find out what my z runs. My mods so far include: Edelbrock performer manifold, open air element w/ 14x5 k&n filter, ascd big block hood (lightweight glass and ram air induction) cat pipe delete with 80 series flow, spohn sfc's, msd coil + 6a ignition, rebuilt qjet and my timing is four degrees advanced. With this combo i beat an 85 iroc (305 tpi with a flowmaster) two times in a simulated quarter mile. I can beat stock gt's (every car has a flow so im not counting that) with relative ease. Im shooting for low 15's we will see tomorrow. Now my question is, my brother thinks his stealth is hot stuff and i looked it up and it had 180 horse with 4400 pounds (including driver). My car wieghs about 1000 pounds less with the wieght reductions ive made. I rode in the car and first gear was dead (no torque) but it really picked up in second and third. Pulled nicely compared to my seemingly sluggish ride. Whether or not he goes tomorrow, my crew is going to run tomorrow and ill post what all of my fellow thirdgen buddies run (my first time at the tracks).

damn, much to my shagrin, i ran my car twice at the tracks today. i'm embarrased to say but niether time did i hit low 15's, granted it was my first time, but still. below are my numbers, maybe someone can break them down for me and tell me what i need to work on.

Run #1 Run #2
Dial-in= 15.60 Dial-in= 15.60
Reaction= 1.248 Reaction= 1.039
60ft= 2.351 60ft= 2.357
E.T.= 15.8 E.T= 15.9
MPH= 89 MPH= 84

even for my first time there (almost redlighted the first time, then learned how to "deep stage") i still think i left some good times out there. is my trap speed high for my e.t? on the second run i left the auto shift on its own and it put me too low in my powerband for third gear. my brother didnt end up going today, maybe some other time we will find out. but yeah in his brochure it said the car wieghed 4400 pounds (its an auto btw).

oh yeah by the way, my buddy with the 85 iroc 305 tpi ran a best of 15.3 @ a little over 90 mph and my other friend with an 85 z28 ran a best of 15.5. it seems that for at least today the tuned port injection showed dominance over the q jet

4400lbs must be a misprint because my dads truck is around 4900-5000lbs and its a 2000 Silverado 4x4 ext cab short bed. The autos are a lot slower than the 5spd's are.

You have a 15 second car and you beat GTs with ease!!! They must not know how to drive, I think you should have a good run with the stealth, but don't get your hopes up.

haha yeah i knew someone was gonna pick up on that. check it out, once i get the go, and dont have reaction times that are rediculous, my car isnt that bad. usually when street racing we go at the same time, and i usually handle the gt's my friends have easily, i get the jump (they spin) and then im gone. im sure if someone knew how to drive (high mileage stock 86, 88 gt 5speeds) they would be even with me. line me up against a modded gt and its curtains for me.

I don't know how many times I have went to the track and see all the 5.0's look at me and laugh. Then I watch them run mid to high 15's!!! Of course I'm sure they didn't know how to drive but, it still happens. Lastnight it happend with 3 different 5.0's and 2 Irocs. Disappointing. I feel like I am the only one in the area that has done anything to a third-gen camaro. There was a couple of 5.0's running low 14's, but, as usual I was the only third-gen camaro running decent times. Does give me the advantage though b/c people think I'm slow, race me, and quickly change their minds that my car is not what it seems.

Yeah, but, you are forgetting that when you are running 16's, there is not much power so your 60ft' is going to be good. When I had no mods totally stock, I ran 15.0 w/a 2.12 60ft. time. But, I didn't have enough power to turn the tires over.
