84 Trans Am vs. 95 civic...

Okay, I'm going to have my trans am with the 350, cam, full exhaust stuff, intake manifold and head work. I told this to a kid at work who wanted to know, and then he says, "dude, i could so waste you." So I ask him what he's got, and he says hes got a honda civic. Im trying to hold my laughter at this point. He says he has an AEM engine (?) with a cold air intake. So as a setup, i ask him what he has for horsepower, and he says probably 350. Right now im almost dying. So I say theres no chance he could do that all motor. Hes like, no I got a twin turbo and a supercharger. I just stopped.

So anyways, as I leave work, I walk out to my camaro, and hes standing there. So me being the jerk I am pry into the BSer. I'm like, what did you do to that engine. He's like, uh turbo and supercharger. I told him he said twin turbo before. Then I point out that it is extremely difficult (if not impossible) to do that on an engine with one cylinder head. He's like, no dude, I have an AEM motor and it special to them. It has 6 valves per cylinder and it can do that. I am trying very hard not to laugh at him. So then I'm like woah that sounds cool can I see it. He responds that he doesnt have his liscense now so he didnt drive. Im like could I see it in the spring. I got a string of uh, uh, uh uh. Then he goes on to tell me he wants to race and then he'll see.

As for who would win, I think its obvious. 84 w/ modded 350 vs. stock civic with rice garbage. Hmm, maybe the civic. Kinda like that LS1 I raced with the camaro. Exactly what you think would happen with that happened. I gave the guy a thumbs up. If the guy in the copper LS1 Z28 reads this, I was in the black camaro and you have a sweet car.

I wish I had TT and a blower. It would go along great with my 800 shot of NOS.

I didnt laugh at the kid because i have to work with him and prefer not to be hostile. He's real lazy, so he'll probably get fired soon anyway. But anyways he goes on to tell me how fast his lincoln from 1979 is. He says it has a 305 in it. I point out that a 305 is a chevy motor, he must mean 302.

But anyways, i drove the project to work, which right now is bondo and red, but it sounds nice with the hooker system on it, even though for the next month its packing a 305. He sees me get out, and he's like, "that's gonna beat me?" I'm like, yeah by like 20 car lengths. Then some kid in a civic drives by and he goes on to tell me how fast it is because it has an intake on it. I say it probably wont chirp the tires. He says it will smoke them. But anyway, he wants me to pop the hood so I oblige. He points to my valve breather and says nice intake. I point out that its a valve breather. then he points to the stock plastic air intake, which I left on but I have an open element filter. He says nice exhaust. I close the hood laughing. He then tells me how much faster is honda is. So I just state that I'd take my 5 liter rear drive car then some 1.8 liter front drive econobox and walk into work.

I don't know, I think my 160 horse LG4 (cat back, gutted cat, open element filter) could rip his 350 horse civic apart. Now when I have my 270 horse 350 in, well, wait and see. When (if) he ever drives his civic to work, I'm gonna tell him to roast the tires. Hopefully he'll drop it in from too high and blow the thing apart. Smoking the tires should be no problem with 350 horsepower, right?

yah well atleast you only work with him

i gotta friend (that i also work with) that has a 1990 ford probe GT.....its gotta stock turbo and we raced and he was like 2 car lengths behind me in the end......i ran a 15.9 at the strip at the time.....so that would make him a mid 16 car.....well he is getting a turbo booster and a new exhaust and he thinks he will run 14's!!!!!.......and then he thinks that it is possible to get his car into the 12's just becuz someone on his message board www.probetalk.com has a 90 probe that runs 12's.....i told him that it is possible, BUT it would cost like 10,000!!!.....and i also add that a bunch of the people on this message board are running 12's or faster.........he just says whatever.......wanna hear something really stupid.......he got his tranny totally redone cuz it had like 130,000 miles on it and one day it just wouldnt go into 3rd and overdrive....so he gets it rebuilt and he takes me for a ride in it like a week after he got it back and he is like......they put a "performance" torque converter and you can feel it on the shifts!.......i call him an idiot and tell him that the only way he would feel if he had a better torque converter is when he is at a dead stop and floors it......and he hasnt done that yet cuz he is "breaking in the tranny" .............another thing is when he was gettin his car worked on.....the estimate was like $2,000 for all of the work (his mom paid for all of it of course) and she took him to a used car dealership and showed him a 90 something formula with a LT1 and asked him if he would like to just sell his car and get this or something like it.....and he said NO!!!!! ....he said he likes his car better......he pisses me off everday with his and he hates it when i call him a *****.....
