First kills in the LT1 Z28

Just thought I'd share. Even though its a 4th gen, good kill stories are always enjoyable reads.

Well the first kill was a Thursday night. Driving to my buddies house with the GF on a main road kind that's in-between towns. I'm the first car in my lane and I stop at a red light. A Black 93-01 Integra pulls up next to me, driver gives me a look like his ride is the baddest **** on the street or something and stops half a car ahead of me ( to where his car is halfway in the crosswalk )

The GF points and says " look babe, Rice! " I didn't hear her too good over the music ( which wasn't blasting but it wasn't quiet ) and I said " No, I don't want to race. " ( I don't like to start races, if someone asks me and I think it won't be an utter blow out, then sure I'll go for it if conditions allow ) She tells me " No I said Rice, not race " " Oh, yea thats Rice babe. I doubt he has anything actually done to it "

Keep in mind my windows were up and I was simply sitting at the light, minding my own business. As if the kid knew me and my GF just called his car a *****, I hear his fart can blast off a few spurts. I thought to myself " Is this kid really serious? Hes probably just going to try and take off and then brag how he beat a Camaro "

Well to hell with that. Light turns green and I waited the split second to hear him hit the pedal to the metal before I do the same. I didn't even bother to take it out of Overdrive in the chance that he was going to back down. By the time I hit 50mph, I had a good car - car and a half on him and I shut down. But it wouldn't be a ***** kill without the flyby and said ***** didn't fail to do his duty. Kid flew by and didn't slow down until he was out of sight. I'm willing to bet the good 20+ cars behind us thought it was hilarious. Putting *** hats like this in their place feels good even if it was puppy kicking. What made the whole thing even better the next day is I saw this kid getting gas at my work. ( I work at a car wash attached to the back of a gas station ) The kid saw me standing outside, my car and gave me a really dirty look. Oh it made my day.

2nd kill. A Monday night. The GF and I were bored so we decided to go for a late night cruise. Right as I'm about to turn around and head home, I spot what I were sure were 1994-1995 Mustang tail lights up the road. I pull up next to it at the light where I see the shiny " GT " badge on the side of the car. Perfect, the mighty " 5.0 ". Like I said before, I don't directly start the races so I really wanted him to roll down the window and ask to go. He had a friend with him who looked over at me, smirked and then must have told the driver what just pulled up next to him.

The Mustang starts literally squirming in anticipation for the light to turn green. Lurching forward a inch or two every couple seconds and I hear the revs to match. I shift out of Overdrive and into Drive. No way in hell am I losing to a Mustang. Light turns green and I fudge the launch. I spin the tires a tad and the Stang jumps 2 cars ahead. I catch grip and immediately pull on him like a raped ape. Blew past him at about ~55-60mph and turned into the first available parking lot to turn around and go home. The Mustang didn't stop to chat. This kill would have been 10x better if I had my license plate. I still have the temp plate and the actual one is going to say LOL FORD

Just thought I'd share these since I never had any legitimate kills with my L98 GTA.

Re: First kills in the LT1 Z28

Those body style 5.0s are god awful slow. I would literally walk away from them in a bolt on/geared LT1 Z28. From a dead stop they only stood a chance til I got traction, from a roll I instantly would jump forward a few lengths and from 60+ MPH I would creep (I had 4.56s so 60 was already 3rd gear).

Re: First kills in the LT1 Z28

Its not fair to pick on the SN-94A mustangs (94-98). They were slower than the Fox-body stangs they replaced.

Its not picking on them when all I did was merely pulled up next to it at a light. Granted, I wanted him to start it, but still.

Re: First kills in the LT1 Z28

I forgot the sarcasm smiley in my post my bad.

Its like in the Robin Williams Live On Broadway show he was talking about America finally made it out of the "Special" category and into the world cup 16. Its a funny clip.

"Oh, be nice to the Mustang, he is damaged people."

She used to think Hondas were fast because thats what all the guys she knew had. A couple guys had SN-95 Mustangs but those are no better than ricers. I was the first one who had a car with a decent V8 in it. ( L98 GTA )

First night she ever rode in my car was the first time she was ever thrown back into a seat.

I had to slowly teach her that all the little junk Hondas she had been around were not fast and that they were called rice.

Re: First kills in the LT1 Z28

My wife still complains about my car. It's not the best looking and especially not in the best of shape but she'll still throw your *** in the back seat after every shift (stock trans too. ). She hates the look of 3rd gens, she loves every other style, just not our beloved ones.

She has an '06 V6 Mustang and it's got a nice little bit of torque. Enough that when she finally got her car back from the body shop she gave herself whiplash because she was used to driving our '99 Accord that has no stones and require the full pedal to break away from a stand still. lol

Re: First kills in the LT1 Z28

Nice kills I'm trying to teach my girlfriend about these rice cars. She lives in a college town so there's plenty of fart cans and civics with no bumper and "turbo" piping hanging out. My L69 car is by no means fast but will still take these guys. Best moment was when I let her drive and she beat one. The guy wouldn't even pull up even to us at the next light. Makes a boyfriend proud!
