When you have to replace the rear and TC you'll find out what you're hurting. I used to do powerbraking a few times and then I had to rebuild the tranny so I figured why take a chance on hurting anything else.

hey what ur hurtin is like the other guys said the tranny and also if u have drum brakes in the rear u probably have blown them out. becuz my brother used to do alot of brakestands and well after awhile he blew out his rear drum brakes and had to pay $250 to get them fixed for inspection and since then he really doesnt do brake stands anymore , maybe once and awhile. hope that helps. also i dont see how its hurting ur front breaks if u do a breakstand becuz they just keep the car stopped its not like there goin anywhere. but like powerbrake is that like just jammin on the brakes at like 45 50 mph or what i dunno what powerbraking is.

The obvious choice here, TIRES, and your wallet. How did you do a brake stand and not get smoke? Were the tires spinning? Don't worry about your brakes. I'd say a 20 sec brake stand(which is rather long go time one) is similar to making like 10 quick stops from 60mph in a row, does it hurt you brakes? sure. so does any braking for that matter. I don't know about auto trannies(don't care either) and I don't see how you would hurt the rear end too much, I mean once the tires are spinning the car is unloaded and putting little strain on anything but maybe brakes and tires obviously. In my younger days(damn I'm only 20) I'd do brake stands and creep slowly for 200-300+ feet. It looks pretty... pretty immature. That was a TBI 5 speed car, not a peg leg though. I say f-%# it, have some fun, especially if you have 15" wheels and tires aren't $120+ each like the 245/16s are.

Car: 1999 Chevy Cavalier
Engine: 2.2
Transmission: 5 speed
Axle/Gears: it's part of the transmission
with a line lock your not hurting too much, with out one you may find yourslef at the body shop when your brakes let go and some moron stops for a yellow light they've already passed through...boston drivers..so kill your car and grow out of it. after awhile it loses it's apeal. peeling out from a dead stop is cool, the dryer the pavement, the more smoke also bad for the tranny.
