So who here from NY goes to 231 Deer Park Ave. to race?
Well, I was just wondering who here on the boards from NY take thier car to Deep Park Ave route 231. I have noticed some 3rd genners on the Ave. but was wondering who actually is on this board. For those who dont know, there is a perfect 1/4 mile on 231...it is even marked. Just wondering...if not, where are there other drag strips on the Island?

I agree, that place has been totally overrun with cops, and they will ticket you for anything if they stop you. BTW, where is the 1/4 mile marked?

Yea..I agree...it is totally being taken over by cops. It is incredible. The quarter mile is marked more towards montauk highway...not near the Avenue Avenue...it is hard to explain...well on the part where there are no stop lights. If you drive there during the day you can see the white lines painted across it. It is pretty well known, therefor cops swarm the place. I have no idea how to get there from 495....sry I am only 16...im not that good at directions. So where are some other good hot spots on Long Island to race?

thats my old neck of the woods
I used to live in Lindenhurst(bout 5 minutes from DPA) and i used to go to DPA all the time...first off, easiest way to go for you is 495 west to 231 south(babylon) keep going and you will hit "the ave" soon enough....
if you ever saw a bright red(w/ black GTA wheels) Trans Am cruisin or sititng in "Carlucci's" parking lot(lot across from Bennigan's,just north of southern state parkway) that was me...
however,as previously stated, cops killed the Ave..before 11,its better to go to Tri-County in Levittown(far ride for you),people still go up to DPA now,but its not as busty as it used to be,and a crap load of rice now...

Don't forget you can check out some real nice rides at Bellmore on Friay nights. And I think some people have started gathering at Masssapequa Mall too on Fridays.

I lived on the Island for my whole life. I've been gone for 2 years. DPA was always the spot to drag and show off your latest trick to your car. You would see every different kind of car there. And if you were able to time the lights right you could just about race any of them from the red. Very rarely did any one not race if they were next to you. It was always a good spot to pick up chicks. I was from out east and I know that they have a 1/4 mile track in Westhampton. I hope it is still open for when I bring my 3rd gen up for a visit.
