Holden!

Everyone knows the fbody is going away. Anyone read the most resent issue of Hot Rod? The Holden divison of GM makes HOT, ls1, 6sp, rear drive cars!!!! Swing over to www.holden.com.au and check out the HSV section! I am ashamed that GM has left us out in the cold when they could just export some of these cars to the US!! I know that the 4 door lay out dosent impress everone (they have a coupe coming) but most of us at some point will want or need a quadraport. Also, most of us can't afford a new car. All new cars become used cars at some point. At this rate what will be left for us to build in twenty years? Trucks? Maybe a corvette if my stock plan hits the roof? Am I the only one who thinks that a rear drive, decent mpg, ls1 car for the "masses" would sell like crazy? I'm married and love my 3rd and 4th gens, but someday a kid or 2 ain't out of the question, and these things would fit the bill. If you get a chance hop on hotrod.com and tell GM to pull their heads out of their asses and build these things already!!! Moderator, if this is not appropriate feel free to lock or delete. Thanks!

Every Holden I've seen should be imported here! The Commodore would destroy every other sedan on the road. (Imagine a RWD family sedan with an LS1) They even have awesome El Camino type cars with the same drivetrain. Come on GM! Bring em over!!!

I don't know...is it just me or does the snarl of a WS6 T/A just impress me way more than a sedan? Or the suttleness of the 4th gen Camaros. I plan to buy either of those within the next few years, and if they discontinue the Camaro/Firebird then I'm saving for a vette. And BTW, it's not over until GM releases an OFFICIAL press release. Have faith my children...have faith.

But how cool would it be to have that same snarl coming from a sedan?

The Monaro coupe looks to be very sweet!! And pricing isn't that bad! I know what you mean about a sedan snarl, but the LT1 Impala SS sounds good to me! I love my Camaro and T/A but sometimes wish there were some options in the GM muscle car market. I would like to be able to take my 6sp LS1 powered coupe to the store instead of my wifes stupid Jeep!

Car: 92 Z28
Engine: aint got no engine right now
Transmission: need one of those
I would love to have this car. Man that thing rocks. I just read about it in the newest issue of Car and Driver and it gave the BMW M5 a serious run for its money. If anyone has an email address or phone number to call GM about this I would love to get it.

Car: '86 TransAm WS6
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: Custom TH700R4
Subtlety (suttleness) of a 4Gen Camaro! Please, Jaguars, Cadilacs, Audis are subtle, Camaros are butt-kicking in-your-face. F-bodies are about bang for the buck, high performance for low money. And as low cost (relatively) GM cars, there is some lack of refinement accepted as part of the package.

However, the thrumm of a pushrod V8 and the ability to burn rubber at will for less than $6000 is worth giving up things like ABS, Stability control, airbags, and invisibility to police radar for.
