Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
Why would I came from a 16 sec car it wasn't stock 305 to start and it was a new 305 not one from 87. Ime 100% sure it was faster than that if they came faster than that stock and mine had a bigger than stock cam in it. And I have a vid of me spanking a M6 LT1 camaro that jumped
I will be sure to race you bud all motor. I may have the bigger motor but I would rather have a LS 4.8 even if my 355 was putting out 500whp. And its not ppl its NOT 500 any thing

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
Lol I'll stick with my stock bottom end Ls1, that makes over 400rwhp through an auto and loose converter... Lol and gets 22mpg. I ran a built 355, fully forged, big cam, this and that. Told me it made north of 400rwhp. From a dig he jumped out 4 cars, passed him like he was standing still. The 20 - 30 rolls were ugly. I tried the 305, lt1, and 355 route. Not for me.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
When I go LSX I don't want any crap, no 4.8, 5a3, or 5.7l. I want a 6.0 or bigger, m6, and super charger. I want 600+ whp. Z06 brakes, 12 bolt, and all that stuff. It will cost me about 15k to do what I want. So for now I may go with a cam over .500 lift and a HSR. But for now 150 shot oops

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
But I built my motor to be the safest I have to drive 1300 miles to houston for school. I'm not sure if a 400 hp motor would do if I drive it str8 there. But my set up is very mild so mild I should be a 14 sec car. With a cam lift at .477 and a cr at 9.25 to 1 and a ported plenum. I just have zz4 heads and a alm water pump. I shaved some w8 but the umi torque are is heavy, along with other stuff. Ls1 brake swap

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
Yeah 305s being dirt slow and can't compete against anything. And the sbc thing u took it the wrong way I know u can get it with a sbc. But what I want a 1st gen sbc can't do for me. I like a lot of power but I don't like the sound of a lot of power, and I'm more a street guy than strip. 700 hp sbc 400 won't like the street too much un less its power is from a power adder. I know u guys are quick to put the gun to me and think these post are wild dreams but I leared what I said I beat and what ppl think are way different. I said and proved I beat my boy stock lt1 camaro 1 lt1 not every and any lt1. I beat 1 stock trans am with a guy that don't race and he cought back up pass the line. And othe the other NON racers. I seen new camaro ss go 14.5 and new gt 500. On a new 305 with bolt ons beat some stock cars some with miles tons of them. I'm sure I can't get a zl1 its 1/4 times if I never raced it. Y'all act like I raced the STIG lol but know beef I got my 355 running just waiting on my tune to get back. ALL HAIL THIRD GENERATION F BODY

Who build is that I have 355 stock 113 heads and a cam with a .477 lift and I wasn't building a race car I was building a car that can take 1300 mile trips often.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
I wasn't aware you could get 700hp out of a NA street driven LSx block to do 1300 mile trips. I seem to draw a blank when I think of "friendly" street driven 9 second cars unless they have a power adder.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
Plans for the new toy are still in the works but I am thinking forged pistons, vortec heads, modified tpi and blown. Tastefully done, not any hacked missing components but an "all there" driver that runs good. As usual, I plan on starting many fights over building a 305 as Five7kid or Vader will allow.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
Im already there. Just picked up a G92 car yesterday. I know it's a "not as common" car which people want to "save" and leave stock... But if you were to do this, this would be the car to do it with. Just saying...

imo you can build your car as you see fit with your funds.
but theres nothing to prove, its been done.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
i got to a point where i wanted to go faster than the 305 would allow for on my budget. that's when i swapped to an ls platflorm.
