Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
i would love an update that he sold his camaro and bought a civic hatchback and then took it from stock and running to "hot modded" and not even starting, like with the camaro which still to my knowledge doesn't run

Honda in japan and acura in america and canada. Most jap companies added another brand because it was easier to market to americans.
The concept V8 and V10 both did. The production was a 3.2 or 3.0L v6 it made about 305 hp during peak years. The V10 concept made 500hp not sure what the next NSX will be it is rumored to be a variant of their dual note concept that was a hybrid, made 400hp and got 42mpg city.
What honda has said about the new NSX is it will be a V6 AWD with 3 electric motors. Also it will be built in Ohio.
Honda has never released a production V8 or V10 but they have made some amazing 1900 hp NA 3.5L V10s for racing.
Toyota in contrast has made production V8,10 and 12s I have even seen a celica with a toyota V12 and T56 swap.

NSXs use V6s. Unless you're talking about the new one. Then the answer would be no I don't think so.
From wikipedia
The HSV-010 GT is powered by a 3.4-liter V8 sending somewhere in excess of 500 hp (373 kW) through the sequential manual gearbox from Ricardo.

In the motorcycle racing world honda has produced more amazing exotic engines than anyone else and also inspired rule changes thanks to a few creative engines. Things like the 250cc I6 that spun over 20k RPMs

I'll add on to the list, the Lexus IS-F with a 5.0 416 HP V8 and the LFA with it's V10 for an example of that.

Did anyone ever read about the V10 LS prototype GM built years ago. Read about it in GM High Tech Performance. That would be awesome.

For true Vtec there would need to be an extra cam lobe to change the cam profile at high RPMs. Maybe they have ramped cams like Ferrari.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
Its the same cam phasing design that allows my 3.9L G6 GTP to make 240lb/ft @ 2800rpm, and 240hp @ 6000rpm. Sure, the numbers themselves aren't impressive. But the split between max torque and max HP shows a very flat power curve and you can tell in the car. Its pretty much happy anywhere from 2500rpm. Can lug itself around in 6th gear as low as 40mph.
Car traps about 95mph in the 1/4.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
No, it could just be phase adjustment which qualifies as VVT on its own. One of the swap threads on LS1tech showed it made a big difference with the cam phaser.

I really would love to see more american V8s with better valve and timing control.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
Yea could be Delphi makes some really cool cam phasers, I would not be surprised if the new camaro had one. Most car companies use them, Honda, Toyota, Bugatti, Checy ect I think they are becoming standard equipment. I-Vtec is a cam phaser combines with an extra lobe.

The Viper has VVT too, it uses a concentric single cam design. Or "Cam in a Cam". There is a single phaser on the cam which moves the exhaust lobes independantly of the intake lobes. Mechadyne makes it, its awesome. So easy to implement too for existing cam in block designs. http://www.mechadyne-int.com/vva-pro...tric-camshafts

The new mustang has VVT too, in both the V6 and the V8, and so does the camaro and a ton of other cars.

I was joking to try and flame it up again but looks like the fire has died. I'm too lazy right now, but tonight when I have a computer and not just my phone, I'll copy an paste, oh let's say ten, positive comments about me from other members on this thread. I love to joke around, and you just take everything to seriously. I think you have a superiority complex and that's fine, but you might want to get that checked out.

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
so you were deliberately trying to cause an argument, trolling? which is cause for ban? you know i dont have a superiority complex, i value the site as an informational tool, idiots bitching that they know more about what is faster then what because they do isn't going to cause anything but more idiots who learned wrong or heard wrong and never found out the real why, by doing, i get that your a high school kid and love your camaro, all about making v8 power and loving american muscle, i was you like 4 years ago, but there is a time to admit when you dont know something, or when you are wrong, and as for your comments the other day about that guy who got badly burned, thats just being a ******** man, come on would you really say that to his face? that made me not like you, i disagreed with you from everything you said in the forum about hondas, it was patriotic albeit misinformed and just opinion nothing based on fact, but it was ignorant, the worst problem with ignorance is being too stupid to want to learn the truth, there are import cars that will smoke thirdgens, there are domestic ones too, there are some cyclists who could probably do it lol, just mature a litte, don't make ******** posts like the other day and we wont have a problem okay?

Re: 305 LB9 are slow bull
Very poorly articulated. I honestly do not mean this rudely but I don't care if we have a problem. You expect this to be unlike every other forum, where no one can joke, jest, or dick around. Expressing opinion is not trolling. I understand you want this to be a growing encyclopedia for thirdgens and I have contributed to that on a daily basis. But you will have to get used to me.
