Well its a completely stock, 256 inline six, i have seen the engine and i've seen the inside of car no NOS. My car is in good condition never took it to the track yet, but everyone knows how slow the LG4 is all i have is flowmaster exhaust, i recently gave my car a tune up also. Thanks for your help

I hate to be **** but it was a 4.2, 258. Same as my old 84 Cherokee Chief.

The Gremlin is pretty underpowered(110-hp from the 258 I-6) and also 'quite plump' for a smaller car. If you don't have anything serious wrong with your LG4, it's bye-bye Gremlin.

Well after checkin under the hood, i noticed everything doesn't seem to be stock, he claims to be hangin with new trans ams, which i think BS, i see no nitrous, Supercharger, or Turbocharger, if anything this guy put heads and headers on it, plus carb and intake, thats the most he could've done...i'm guessing all those would still put him under the 180 hp i have right?

I use to own 304 Gremlin, but that is another animal; especially when you install 4 bbl, cam and headers.

You should beat the 6 banger without any difficulty. They were really doggy back then. Does he have an automatic or the 3 speed standard? No Gremlin came with a 4 speed.

My brother and I put a Clifford header, an Offenhauser dual-port intake, and a Holley 390 4-barrel on a Jeep CJ-5 with that same motor in it once... surprised the hell out of a bunch of people, I can tell you that much....

if he has fortified the engine with some clifford performance parts, the car might be faster then it looks, but i think you'll still be able to take him.
